EPA Lead-Safe Certified Firm The Environmental Protection Agency along with the California State License Board are requiring a new certification to be held by remodelers beginning April 22, 2010. The TSCA (Toxic Substances Control Act) requires a contractor be certified to conduct lead based paint renovation, repair and painting activites. This certification specifies procedures of demolition when remodeling homes build before 1978. Strong Construction has obtained the designated certification and all employees have been trained in the proper removal, collection and hauling of lead contaminated materials where 6 square feet (or more) of interior or 20 square feet exterior are disturbed. |

Business Networks Strong Construction joined Business Networks in 1999; an industry pier group engaged in building businesses through networking and using proven systems. Business Networks helps business owners to continually improve their companies. We were placed in a group with similar remodeling businesses across the country. We met every 6 month to critique one of the businesses and to share our challenges and accomplishments over the past few months. Together, network members observe and evaluate each other’s companies, learn from each other’s successes and generate positive solutions. Each company takes home new ideas and goals which they implement into their businesses during the following 6 months. We were amazed to learn that even though these companies were not in our geographic region, we all had the same challenges. We were involved in our pier group for 4 years; it was one of the most valuable learning platforms of our company’s history. In addition we made close and lasting friendships. |
